Police search for suspects after shots fired from vehicle

Sparks, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)-- Sparks Police say that one suspect is in custody, but two remain on the loose after the trio fired shots from their vehicle. 

Police report that just before midnight on March 1st, SPD Officers were patrolling near the Rail City Casino when an officer saw shots fired from a moving vehicle. The officer attempted to pull over the car using lights and sirens, but the car fled, and was chased through the neighborhood east of Sullivan.

In the 1100 block of 20th Street, the three occupants of the getaway vehicle exited the car, running north on foot. Police brought in a K9 unit and established a perimeter for their search, and managed to capture one of the fleeing suspects, a 17-year-old Reno resident. Police say they have also recovered the handgun used to fire the shots, which was thrown from the escaping vehicle during the chase. 

The two remaining suspects escaped, and are described as Latino males in their late teens or early twenties. 

Sparks Police are asking for help catching these suspects, anyone with information on this crime is asked to call Secret Witness at 322-4900.
