GENOA, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- In the mid 1800's the Pony Express was known for its quick exchange of mail across the country.

Today, a group of riders reenacted the route in Genoa. Since the 1970s, volunteers have been reenacting the same Pony Express mail route used by riders in the mid 1800's. The Pony Express ran eight states, and had a stop in Genoa in the same location as the current Mormon Station Park.

According to organizers, 500 riders and horses participated in the 10 day ride.
