Power restored to northwest Reno residents

RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Another 2,400 NV Energy customers were without power after a power pole caught fire on Monday.

According to NV Energy Spokesperson Faye Anderson, a pole near Seventh Avenue and Stoker Street caught fire before 8 p.m., leaving many residents in northwest Reno and near Idlewild Park without electricity. The fire was weather-related.

NV Energy restored the power just before 10 p.m.

This was the second major power outage reported on Monday. The other one affected 5,600 customers, and power was restored around 7:30 p.m.
