UPDATE: The preliminary hearing for a former storey county commissioner continues Monday April 29th, 2013.

Greg "Bum" Hess is charged with one count of felony battery by strangulation for grabbing former Virginia City High School student, Kody Burrell by the neck during an altercation in the high school gym on February 1, 2013.

Burell took the stand in February asking for an extenstion on the restraining order against Hess

STOREY COUNTY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The 18-year old Virginia City High School graduate, who was allegedly choked by former Storey County Commissioner Bum Hess spent three and a half hours on a witness stand today.

Kody Burrell testified in a preliminary hearing that Hess choked him at a basketball game in February. Burrell's father tells News 4 Burrell was questioned by Hess' lawyer, Cal Dunlap.

In total, multiple separate witnesses are set to testify at the hearing which is expected to last at least two days.

Every one knows Hess is dirty including the Sheriff, the County Manager, the County Commissioners and the DA but no one wants to do anything about him.
