WASHINGTON, D.C. (Mynews4.com & KRNV) -- U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has authorized federal prosecutors to seek the death penalty for Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Tsarnaev, 19, and his brother Tamerlan are suspected of planting two homemade pressure-cooker bombs near the finish line of the 2013 Boston Marathon on April 15, killing three and injuring more than 250. His brother was killed in the resulting three-day manhunt.

A Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer, Sean Collier, was allegedly killed by Tsarnaev on April 18.

Dzhokar Tsarnaev is charged with 30 federal counts, and has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
