Pyramid Lake Tribal Chairman honored posthumously

PYRAMID LAKE, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Pyramid Lake Tribal Chairman Wayne Burke has been posthumously honored as the American Indian Community Leader of the Year.

The Nevada Indian Commission recognized Burke during its annual American Indian Achievement Awards Banquet on Saturday.

Burke helped create the Reno area tribe's economic development and tourism programs.

Burke died in October at the age of 38.
