RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- RTC bus service between downtown Reno and Carson City is making a new stop starting Monday. They are adding The Summit shopping center to the route.
"It's a really popular option for people who have jobs, perhaps, in Carson City and live in Reno," said RTC spokesman Joe Harrington. "It's also just a great way for people to connect to all the amenities in our area."
Harrington said RTC customers were asking for a stop at The Summit. "It gives people so many more options to go see the movies, go to the bank, go to Starbucks, grab lunch here, grab dinner, be able to check out all the cool stores here at The Summit."
The Summit spokesman Dan Davis said they are excited to be connected to public transit. "This service is going to provide a lot of benefit to our customers and shoppers."
If you want to drive to The Summit to hop on the bus, the park and ride lot is in the southwest corner of the property near the traffic circle.
"We're kind of locked between Reno and Carson," Davis said. "I think it's a great opportunity for people from Reno to go to Carson and vice versa."
The bus travels between Fourth Street in downtown Reno and the Nevada Department of Transportation office in Carson City. It runs Monday through Friday, except major holidays.
Whether you're going green or trying to save money, Harrington said you should give RTC Intercity a try. "It's a great option for commuters. It's a great option for visitors to our area and really for everyone."
