RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) in cooperation with the Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County (RTC) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) is proposing to realign Geiger Grade Road to make an additional connection with US 395A (Old US 395), south of Veterans Parkway.

A public information meeting to brief the community on the project and to receive comments from the community will be held March 26, 2013 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Galena High School Cafeteria at 3600 Butch Cassidy Way in Reno.

RTC says the purpose of the project is to enhance regional connectivity by providing an alternate route from Geiger Grade Road to US 395A (Old US 395).

Currently the only connection from Geiger Grade Road to US 395A is at Veterans Parkway. Comments or questions regarding the proposed project may be addressed to: Steve Cooke, P.E., Environmental Services Division Chief, NDOT, 1263 S. Stewart St., Carson City, NV 89712, telephone (775) 888-7013. Or email comments to info@dot.state.nv.us with a reference to this project in the subject line.
