SUN VALLEY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The Regional Transportation Commission is studying the Sun Valley Boulevard corridor, and encouraging members of the public to provide their comments at two events set for the month of June.
The first meeting was held Monday night, and there was quite a turnout. The study area includes properties within about a half mile of the corridor. Its purpose is to identify how to better accommodate all modes of travel and to increase safety. One of the biggest concerns is sidewalks, or rather the lack of them.
"You are essentially walking in a ditch. That's all that's there. So, that happens in many places in Sun Valley, some places have sidewalks and some have ditches -- or nothing," Sun Valley resident Larry Jones said.
There will be an open house to further discuss the Sun Valley corridor Thursday, June 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hobey's Casino.
