RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The Regional Transportation Commission is hosting an open house today to present the public input received during the past year for potential transportation improvements for the Virginia Street Corridor.

The open house is at the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. A presentation will be given at 5:30 p.m.

The RTC began the study last January to conduct a multimodal analysis for potential transportation improvements on Virginia Street from North McCarran to the Mount Rose Highway. Ideas submitted by the public include wider sidewalks, better lighting, slower speeds, and more transit.
