RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- The Reno/Sparks NAACP says they will add their local voices to the nationwide Justice for Trayvon Rallies.

This Saturday, NAACP members will rally at the Bruce Thompson Courthouse in Reno. The rally starts at 11am on the Liberty Street side of the courthouse.

This rally is just one of many being held across the nation in the wake of the verdict in the George Zimmerman trial. A similar rally will also be held tomorrow morning in Las Vegas.

I don't need to go to school to KNOW what you said dumbass. Where do you get off calling Trayvon Martin a thug drug dealer? That was never introduced in evidence. I think it's you who are trying to manipulate us into hating Martin. You are no better than the hatemongers from the NAACP. Don't bother responding. Life is too short to try to converse with the likes of you...so I won't.

Comanche go back to school and learn to comprehend what you read .I did not say the kid was 12 I said the only pictures that the press lets us see are of when he was 12.Thus they are trying to manipulate us into feeling sorry for him when in reality he was a drug dealing thug

UR an idiot robcobbjr. Martin was 17 much like UR IQ. The most dangerous animal on the face of the planet is a human male between the ages of 18 and 25; that's why societies have always drawn their soldiers from that demographic. Their is literally no level of violence that men in that age range are not capable of...if trained properly and just plain dangerous if not trained. Both Zimmerman and Martin were within the margin of error of my statement...both were accidents waiting to happen. Drugs and racial animosity had nothing to do with it. Just an unfortunate cascade of events.

Trayvon was a drug dealing thug and the press is trying to manipulate the people by only posting pictures of him when he was 12.Now the blacks know how everyone else felt after O.J was acquitted.

Just to be clearer, Zimmerman had as much right as Martin to be there; maybe more since he was a community watch volunteer and that's what he was doing when he was attacked, according to the evidence. Also according to the evidence, Martin initiated the physical confrontation. Here’s a suggestion for ALL parents, but especially for African-American parents, who must teach their kids the “proper” way to behave in public or in the presence of police. You can start by teaching them not to physically assault other humans who might possibly be armed and who might use deadly force to defend themselves against them. George and Trayvon are the only people who really know what happened that night, and the dead guy ain’t talkin. The jury however heard every possible detail about the confrontation and concluded that George Zimmerman was physically assaulted by Trayvon Martin forcing George to use deadly force to prevent his own bodily injury or death. Tragic and regrettable; and with due respect to the NAACP’s, Obama’s, & Holder’s continuing dissatisfaction with the verdict, but at the end of the day, I think I’d rather be George than Trayvon. It’s always better to be judged by 6 rather than be carried by 6. On another note: I don’t care if our next President is black, white, Hispanic, or Martian, I just want an American President. You know, one who at least gives the appearance of representing ALL Americans, not just liberal democrats, and not one who thinks that by accommodating the loudest protests and the more aggressive social agitators, are preferable systems of justice than our current system of using inconvenient laws, courts, and juries.

Just to be clear, my problem is with the law itself. Defending yourself against an attack is perfectly reasonable, but when you provoke and antagonize the attack you claim to be defending yourself from you shouldn't be entitled to the benefit of the law protecting you. Zimmerman was told by a police officer to stand down and wait for police, he didn't listen and continued to put HIMSELF in the very situation he supposedly needed protection from, I don't feel that is the way the law was intended when implemented. If Martin attacked him unprovoked OK, do what you need to do. If someone was following you what would you do, because at that point Martin had a right to stand his ground as well, because I'm sure he felt threatened as well. The way the law was written Zimmerman is innocent, but if he let the police do their job everyone goes home that night, you can't argue that point.

It is unfortunate this tragedy had to be made into a media circus! Everyone with their opinions, none of whom were present as a jury member to hear the REAL facts, the law, and how they were to decide based on the LAW. There are thousands of similar cases never heard by the public on such a huge scale, regardless of race, and there was never a national specticle made out of them. This case would never have been created into a racist incident if it wasn't for the publishing of racist comments and opinions, then snowballing into this huge controversy as it is now. Apparently the anti-gunners are behind this, making it a racist/anti-gun issue. Good grief people, it was a tragic event for everyone INVOLVED, but your temper trantrums are not helping matters one bit!

I'm not hiding DaveAss, as I am not spewing my racist views on an internet forum where I can't be held accountable. If you would like to know who I am just ask.

Are there any real people in the NAACP or just progressive democrats? What if Nevada didn't have a SYG law? What does SYG mean? No SYG means that if you are outside your home you have a "duty" to retreat, if possible, when assaulted. Scenario: You have a gun. You're walking at the Marina. Someone walks up behind you and hits you in the back of the head but in doing so trips and falls to the ground. You're seeing stars but you realize that he is starting to get up. Without SYG, you must attempt to "retreat", again and again, (until you have nowhere else to "retreat” to), before you can use deadly force to defend yourself. In the People's Republic of California, the concept extends to inside your home as well. Scenario: You're in your living room watching TV and you happen to have a gun on your lap when a home invader smashes through your front door but trips and falls to the floor; giving you an opportunity to "retreat" elsewhere in your house. If you flee to the bedroom and the bedroom has a window, you must flee out the window before you can use "deadly force". If you had chosen to flee to the bathroom, and the bathroom does not have a window big enough to escape, you could then legally use "deadly force" against the home invader...if he tried to enter your bathroom. If he just rifles through your home stealing your stuff, you have to leave him be. Do these two NON-SYG scenarios make sense to anyone except perhaps to the President or Erik Holder? Obviously, they seem perfectly swell in the feverish minds of progressive democrats, NAACP members,....and Californians.
