(KRNV & LAS VEGAS, Nev. Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement today the announcement that U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl has been released by the Taliban in Afghanistan.

"Today is a great day for the United States of America. The safe return of Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl is an answer to the prayers of the Bergdahl family and a powerful reinforcement of our nation's commitment to leave no service member behind. I commend the diplomats, service members, and others who worked tirelessly to bring Sergeant Bergdahl home, and I commend President Obama for taking decisive action to achieve the agreement leading to his release when the opportunity arose. The President rightly recognized our solemn obligation to take every possible measure to protect and defend the men and women who serve our nation.”

Honestly how do we look weak, we took over Iraq in a week, we pushed the taliban out of Afghanistan with only 100,000 or so troops, we lost more lives in single battles in WW2 then we did in this conflict over 10 years. We killed Osama bin Laden, we are killing leaders of the Taliban/Al Qaeda everyday for remote controlled airplanes. Give me a break!!

Speed, instead of playing this "I care about America" BS, just say what you want to say, it drives you crazy a black man is running the country, and no matter what he does you will be pissed off about it. They say you can't reason with crazy. I am a US Marine and I am ok with this swap, ask the Berghdals if they approve, because if it was your kid over there you would want him back and the fact it took 5 years is the real disgrace!

renojim; Ironic that in so many other cases of Americans held in Foreign Countries, their health concerns didn't get them traded for 5 world class terrorists. That's not even my point though. Try to realize how WEAK this trade makes America look to the World-at a time when yet another show of weakness is the last thing we need. The president has just told the Terrorists that they can get away with almost ANYTHING,because the US president rules by "feelings" rather than diplomacy, logic, truth or even the Rule of Law. By releasing these five trained terrorists,America has been put at risk, and if you read up on it,you find that this action, intentionally putting the People of America at risk of terrorism, can be legally defined as TREASON.

@oldguy, maybe your dementia is kicking in, Obama gave the order, Bush backed down when he had Osama in Tora Bora, and when Clinton was in office he hadn't killed 3000 Americans yet. Take your viagra and then take a nap!!

renojim your statements are moronic at best. Obama didn't get Bin laden. Navy seals did under auspices set up by Bush. Oh, and by the way, Clinton had a chance to get Bin Laden and passed. You might want to check history before shooting your mouth off. Just a thought.

Speed there is a good article on fox news website (since I'm sure you would say the one on MSN is biased based on your radical republican beliefs) that the SGT. was gravely ill and may have died without immediate action, which was taken by a brave President (you know the one, the one that actually had the balls to get Osama Bin Laden, not let him runaway into the hills and left unfound for 8 years under your King George Bush). Now we can actually kill these five, instead of paying for the cost of feeding them in custody.

I'm glad the Sgt. was brought back, but I have serious concerns about trading the freedom of 5 of the "worst of the Worst" Terrorists for him. There was a time when the President, the Military and the Civilians knew it was policy to "not bargain with Terrorists". If we're going to allow their finest to walk free again, why were there FIVE of theirs for ONE of ours? What ever happened to "a man for a man"? THAT would have been Diplomacy in operation. This is a sell-out of America's safety (ANOTHER one)and a public showing of our current foreign policy ignorance. (Calling it ignorance even though it's intentional,a part of a much bigger picture)

Well now we know what a American Service person if worth to the POS in the White House. Obozo has now put a price on the head of every service member in the terrorist's eyes. That and made 5 Martyrs for terrorists through out the world. Obozo is nothing more then a COWARD who will do anything for a PR moment.
