Reno, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com) Beer, hotdogs and plenty of sunshine equals a recipe for a great day of baseball. With the season 26 days away. Reno Aces fans got the next best thing: free range of the stadium.
"Without the games, we get to show people so much more than we can during and aces ball game,” says Eric Edelstein, chief operating officer. “All the things that are a lot tougher to do when the team is here. So we get to a lot closer to the action, and really understand what a great place aces ballpark is.”
Fans got the V.I.P treatment by gaining access to restricted areas during tours that stopped by the batting cages, dugout, suites and more.
Also new this season, the Aces unveiled a humidor. It's only one in five ballparks in the nation to have one.
"It’s a combination of our dry weather and high altitude. So the balls travel a lot faster," says Edelstein.
The Reno Aces say the open house is a way for the community to be involved and get excited for the upcoming season.
“It’s our way to say thank you, and welcome you back.”
Individual tickets for the Reno Aces went on sale today and the first game of the season is set for April 3rd.
