RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- For many Americans, it's not really spring until opening day of baseball season.

"The number one question that gets asked of us in the front office is 'what do you do all winter?' and the answer is we get ready for opening day," said Reno Aces Chief Operating Officer Eric Edelstein.

Edelstein can't wait for Thursday's home opener.

"There's something about that first game," he said. "It's sort of the end of winter. It's the start of that time of year that we're all excited about."

In the next few days, they'll put the finishing touches on the ballpark and Edelstein said the team is ready to impress.

"We've got the top pitching prospect in all of baseball, Archie Bradley," he said. "We don't know how long we're going to have him. You're going to want to mark your calendars and see this guy."

A fan favorite is also making a comeback.

"Trent Oeltjen was a fan favorite our first year in 2009," Edelstein said. "He was playing with a team in Mexico, still putting up good numbers, and they were able to bring him back."

Edelstein said the food vendors are also adding to their rosters.

"We've got some great wow items," he said. "Helmet nachos, a full-size helmet full of nachos, a fried chicken po' boy that is just spectacular, a lot of new craft beer."

In just three days you can get your first taste of the new season.

If you're worried about mother nature on game night, the Aces manager has your back.

"If it's not 60 degrees at first pitch, Phil Nevin's going to buy you a ticket," Edelstein said.

The ticket will be good for the future game of your choice, excluding July 4.

So Edelstein said there's no reason to miss their lead-off event.

"Archie's going to be delivered in a helicopter thanks to Remsa," he said. "It's just a lot of pomp and circumstance. [The] game starts at 6:30. You're going to want to be here by 6:00 to take it all in."

Tickets for opening night are still available. You can buy them by calling 775-334-7000 or visiting the Aces website.
