RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- According to a press release from the City of Reno, the Reno Fire Department (RFD) is requesting the public's help in finding the person or persons responsible for three arson fires involving Molotov cocktails. The RFD responded to the following calls for service:

  • June 13, 2014: 740 South Center Street
  • June 18, 2014: 528 Sinclair Street
  • June 20, 2014: 4th and Virginia Streets

Evidence collected at the scene, proximity, and times suggest that these incidents may be related.

"Two of these incidents occurred next to single family dwellings with sleeping occupants at the time of the crime," says Captain Tray Palmer. "We are deeply concerned because one of these attacks targeted a bedroom, which could have easily burned or killed the persons inside."

Anybody with information is urged to contact Reno Fire Investigators at 334-2300 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.
