Reno, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)-- Reno Police are looking for three suspects in two separate robberies this morning.
The first robbery occurred at 8:30 a.m. this morning at Interstate Insurance on 919 South Wells Ave. when a male suspect entered and pointed a handgun at the lone employee as he opened for the day. The suspect demanded money from the business, but when the employee stated he did not have any money, the suspect struck the employee and demanded money a second time. Police say the suspect obtained money and fled out the door of the business.
The suspect is described as a hispanic male in his 20's, 5'8", thin build, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.
Another robbery occurred at Hi Point Liquor on 900 Yori St. at 9:20 a.m. when two suspects entered the store and one of them brandished a small handgun. While the suspect pointed a handgun at the store employee, the other suspect removed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. The suspects then fled the store and were observed leaving the area in a small red sport utility vehicle.
Police are looking for a black male adult, 5'9" to 6'0", medium build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and darker colored pants.
The other suspect is described as an unknown race adult male, 5'6" to 5'8", medium build, last seen wearing a gray and blue hooded sweatshirt, ball cap and blue jeans.
Reno Police are investigating a possible link between these cases but have not confirmed if there is one or not at this time.
The Reno Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect(s). Anyone with information is asked to call 334-2115 or call Secret Witness at 322-4900. Secret Witness is offering a reward in the amount of $1,500.00 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspects.
