RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- According to a press release from Reno Police, two individuals were arrested Tuesday, suspects in a string of thefts in the region.
Over the past several months, members from the Reno Police Department Crime Suppression Team (CST) and RPD Burglary Detectives conducted operations in northwest Reno and in the Stead-area after an increase in vehicle and residential burglaries were reported. After several operations in those areas, CST and Burglary Detectives developed information that led them to a residence and several suspects who were associated with the burglaries.
On July 1, 2014, a warrant was issued for a residence on Fleetwood Drive in Lemmon Valley from the information CST and Burglary Detectives obtained through their investigation. Upon searching the residence, Reno Police recovered numerous stolen ID’s, checkbooks, laptops, cameras, and other miscellaneous electronics, as well as two stolen firearms that were linked to other burglaries in Washoe County.
Two men at the residence were contacted by RPD officers and admitted to committing numerous vehicle and residential burglaries throughout Reno, Sparks and Washoe County.
19-year-old Jonathon Devencenzi (pictured right) and 18-year-old Quentin Russell (pictured left) were arrested and charged with several counts of Burglary and two counts of Larceny of a Firearm.
The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are anticipated soon. Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to contact the Reno Police Department at (775) 334-4762 or Secret Witness at (775) 322-4900.
