Reno Police investigating theft from local business

RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- Reno Police asking for help in identifying suspect in larceny of a purse.

A black female adult entered a business on Northtowne Lane in Reno, and while inside, the suspect took the business owner's purse from a chair. The female suspect then concealed the purse before exiting the business and left toward the RTC bus stop nearby.

The victim's purse was found near said RTC bus stop, but it no longer contained the victim's wallet nor other miscellaneous items.

The suspect is estimated to be in her mid 20’s, 5'5" to 5'8" in height, medium build, and was wearing a blue jean vest with a red shirt, and blue shorts at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information on the identity of this suspect is asked to call the Reno Police Department at 334-2175 or Secret Witness at 322-4900.

For heaven's sake, when you are at work, don't leave a purse in plain sight. That is just common sense. It's the same reason you lock your doors and windows, and don't leave purchases in your car in plain sight. Theft, as are most crimes involving stealing, is often a matter of opportunity.
