RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The best kayakers from around the world have descended on the Biggest Little City for the annual Reno River Festival.
The world's top kayakers will return to Reno's Whitewater Park this weekend to compete in races like the Slalom and Freestyle. There will also be free entertainment, and nearly 100 different food vendors.
Event Manager Noah Fraser said although the water is the lowest it has ever been, it will not impact the fierce competition. "The women's freestyle this year has three world champions that are going to be competing among a bunch of other U.S. and national champions, so it's going to be a really stacked event and should be a lot of fun."
Festivities begin at 9 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Competitions, food, and free entertainment will take place throughout the two days, as well.
