Reno River Festival kicks off this weekend

RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Known as one of the toughest whitewater competitions on the circuit today, the Reno River Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2013 – May 11 – 12.

This year’s event brings out some of the world’s top paddlers for a weekend filled with exciting whitewater competition, free music, tons of industry vendors, free fishing and camping clinics and a kids play area that includes none other than a zip line across the famed Truckee River.

Below is the complete schedule of events for the 2013 Reno River Festival.

Friday, May 10
12 – 5 p.m. On-Site Registration

Saturday, May 11
9 – 10 a.m.Yoga in the Park with 24 Hour Fitness

10 a.m. Outdoor Expo, Kids Area, Cabela’s Outdoor Area, On-Site Registration Opens

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Freestyle Preliminary Rounds

11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Cabela’s Fishing Kayaks Clinic

11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Music in the Park: Buster Blue

12 – 1 p.m. Cabela’s Inflatable Personal Flotation Devices Clinic

1 – 2 p.m.Cabela’s River Wading and Fly Tactics Clinic

1 – 2:30 p.m. Music in the Park: Whitney Myer

2 – 3 p.m. Cabela’s Truckee River Set Up and Tactics for the Spin Fisherman

3 – 4 p.m. Cabela’s Canoe Camping Gear and Trip Ideas for Our Area

3 – 4:30 p.m. Music in the Park: Mark Sexton Band

4 – 6:30 p.m. Music in the Park: Keyser Soze

6 – 8 p.m.Freestyle Finals
