Looks a hellava lot better than the Moana "Daimond", for only 1/1000th of the cost!!

While the art group responsible for increasing our civic art to Reno, Black Rock Arts Foundation, is raising 50% of the funds for these projects, it makes more sense to use ART budgeted funds in other forms and to keep Reno City money to keep our city afloat. Why do almost every artist and art lover fail to recognize that we are broke, Reno! We need to get our books in order, but you want to raise taxes to do that in exchange for preserving projects like this? Hmmm, perhaps we need to change the city employees and RSCVA people making these decisions. Great project, but very poort timing!

A community makes a statement based on their investment in art.

I really don't think you understand how municipal budgets work. Money that's allocated to "Art" can't magically be spent on roads or education. That being said, I don't understand how this could cost 100k...

could not this money have been spent on new math or science books? Or maybe to the homeless youth in our community? Keep your eyes on the road is all we hear and see.... and then huge ugly art put beside our roads!!! WAY TO WASTE MONEY!!!! That is the job well done.

I don't see why reno keeps deciding to spend carelessly on art "improvements"?? up and down the freeways and other major roadways. That money is better spent fixing the roads instead of on pointless metal grossly over priced "art"!!!! Wake up people Nevada is broke and we need serious change.

I like it! I liked it better when it was white myself. If you get close and study the graceful curves of the piece, it's really quite nice. One would never know that this steel was sitting in a pile since the Taba Turbine met its untimely demise at the Convention Center.

This thing is hideous!!!! My question is - why do drivers need to be looking at art? (If that is what you call it) I'd much rather they pay attention to the road!!! And isn't the scenery around Reno pretty enough without having to waste money on trash like this?

Looks like a sea urchin or a pincushion. It's kinda ugly. And why bright red?
