RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- "Never Too Old For Cold" is the theme for the Second Annual Winter Reno-Tahoe Senior Games that kicked off on Monday. The city of Reno will host a series of competitions, and all seniors over the age of 50 are welcome.

Monday competition began with ice skating and hockey slap shot on the Rink of the River in downtown Reno. Darryl Feemster, Manager of Youth and Senior Services for the city of Reno, says more than 100 people were signed up so far, and he was expecting another 100 more.

Registration fees are $20 per person, plus $10 per sport entered, and it covers multiple events within that sport. The sports seniors will be competing in include, but are not limited to: bowling, baggo, pickleball, ice skating, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing. Archery has been added for this year's competition.
