RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- There are a lot of great events happening this Labor Day weekend. One of them is an annual poker tourney to benefit out local veterans, that takes place Friday evening.

The Texas Hold 'Em Tournament is one of the biggest fundraisers held for Reno-Sparks veterans each year; and the donations collected go toward making holiday food baskets for vets and their families -- an arguably great cause.

A catered dinner will be served at 6 p.m. at the VFW Post in the California Building at Idlewild Park and the tournament itself starts at 7 p.m. A $100 buy-in is required at the door, which gives you $3,000 in chips.

There is still room in the tournament, so the public is encouraged to sign up. Click here for more info.
