RENO, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- Operation Homefront Nevada will be distributing back packs and school supplies for military children in northern Nevada during 'Back to School Brigades.'

The nonprofit organization will be giving backpacks with school supplies to lower and mid-grade ranking military families this Saturday.

Operation Homefront is a nonprofit that leads more than 2,500 volunteers with nationwide presence who provide emergency and other financial assistance to the families of service members and wounded warriors. They have provided assistance to thousands of military families since 2002.

The first Back to School Brigade will take place August 1 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the NAS Fallon Youth Center on 1001 Juniper Dr. in Fallon. The second brigade will be Saturday August 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Reno Armory on 682 E. Plumb Lane.

Operation Homefront has been recognized for superior performance by leading independent charity watchdog groups. Nationally, 93 percent of total donations to Operation Homefront go directly to programs that provide support to our military families. For more information, go to

Your financial reports show the chiefs get over half million dollars a year in compensation. It also shows you have a large net asset. Since your are a non-profit, then why so much profit? Doesn't look like you are giving all. Looks like you are making 100k each off of a guise of helping military families. Only 1 being helped is your wallets.
