RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The biggest little city hosted its very first run allowing competitors to qualify for the Boston marathon Saturday.
The Downtown River Run kicked off at the Reno arch as part of the Dolan Automotive Group's Reno 5,000 series. The series provides three events for runners, where they can choose to run a half-marathon, 10K or 5K race. Reno is now one of only fifty cities nationwide where racers can qualify for the Boston Marathon. News4's very own Samantha Boatman competed and received 1st place in her age group.
The next race in the Downtown River Run series will take place on June 29th.
