RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- As temperatures rise, we look for ways to cool down, and one local man is trying to make summer in Reno a little sweeter.

"I've been making ice cream for about three years now," Jeremy DeMarzo said.

From mixing to churning, DeMarzo does it all from his Reno condo.

"[I] give it to friends," he said. "We have little tasting parties and ice cream socials all the time."

He wants to start selling his products, but to do that he needs to rent a health department approved kitchen and buy some heavy duty equipment.

"The machine that we're going to use costs about three thousand dollars because we need a commercial machine that pumps out more ice cream per hour than our home-maker does," DeMarzo said.

He'll sell the frozen treats in 8-oz containers from a tricycle. That's where the name IceCycle Creamery comes from.

"We've already got the bike being worked on," DeMarzo said. "It's a custom built tricycle that cost us about three thousand dollars."

DeMarzo is turning to Kickstarter to raise the money, and if you donate, you'll get a free ice cream after the business opens.

"This week I've made chocolate curry, burnt marshmallow," he said. "I did a dairy-free coconut thai tea ice cream."

Believe it or not, he's lactose intolerant, but he still tastes each recipe to make sure it's just right.

"I'm super basic," DeMarzo said. "I like to keep it cream, milk, sugar and ingredients, whatever's going to be flavoring it."

He also likes to keep it natural and local.

"We're trying to keep it within the basin," he said. "So you're supporting the community by eating our ice cream."

He promises you won't be disappointed.

"Expect to have your mind blown," DeMarzo said.
