Reno welcomes new radio station featuring adult alternative

RENO, Nev. (KRNV & -- Americom Broadcasting launched a new radio station today at 97.3 FM called “Little City 97.3."

Little City 97.3, with call letters KOLC-FM, replaces Americom’s KSGG “Swag 97.3”, a hip hop and R&B format, which has moved up the FM dial from its former home at 97.3 to 104.9 FM.

Reno Media Group says “Little City 97.3” is a rock station targeting primarily women and features current and new adult alternative music, songs from 1990’s and 2000’s, hit songs from singer-songwriters, and music from modern rock artists.

I didn't listen to the old ststion; and there are a-plenty "easy" listening FM's geared toward women/shoppers. Adult alternative is really not here, except sometimes on "the X". This format is heard inCalifornia Oregon, Washington, etc. and is fairly endangered. Did NV4 report that KJFK (silly call letters!!), a "liberal" talk ststion, went off AM air 2 weeks ago? Now we get the mysoginist, dubbed-in, and non-uplifting "hip-hiop" on AM. dreggs...
