RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- A proposed rental car tax increase, which would help refinance the $55 million loan for the Reno Aces Ballpark, is drawing opposition.
The Reno Gazette-Journal is reporting the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority expressed concerns about the tax hike, saying it would put a damper on the amount of money tourists spend in the region, impacting hotels, ski resorts, and the airport.
Owners of the Reno Aces are proposing public financing be combined with new private equity to refinance the stadium loan, which is due in 14 months.
