Rider of motorcycle dead after a collision with a vehicle

Reno Police say the rider of a 2006 Honda Motorcycle was pronounced deceased at a local hospital after being involved in a crash with a 2007 Chrysler Van.

My heart goes out to the rider's friends and family. What a terrible and untimely tragedy. I hope the family can come to terms and move forward in life.

"motorcyclist", OK. "motorcycle rider" or even "driver", acceptable. 'Rider of motorcycle'? how awkward...what, trying to cover all the bases? sidecars?
