SPARKS, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- The local company responsible for the Dream Chaser Space System announced a new global expansion Wednesday morning.
Sparks-based Sierra Nevada Corporation will join forces with European Space Agency and German Aerospace Center. The goal of the partnership is to build technology for the Dream Chaser program.
SNC's Dream Chaser Space System is at the forefront of the commercial human spaceflight industry, in hopes to one day offer crew and cargo transportation to low-earth orbit.
Corporate Vice President and Head of SNC Space Systems Mark Sirangelo said, "We have been able to put together separate agreements to look towards cooperative arraignments where we can access people, technologies and vast amount of resources."
SNC plans to have a piloted test flight of the Dream Chaser in 2017.
