RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Saint Mary’s Fitness Center is now 100 percent locally owned and operated by Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center. Previously, the fitness club was managed by Club One, a national management agency for fitness clubs across the country, according to a Saint Mary's press release.
The change in management will allow the Fitness Center to ensure innovation tailored to the needs within the community and enrich the local economy.
“Harnessing the full support and resources of the hospital will mean greater efficiencies and more opportunities for our members and the community,” said Miles Mettler, general manager of Saint Mary’s Fitness Center. “This is an exciting transition and a remarkable time in the life of the Fitness Center and we can’t wait to implement new services and features that will be rolling out in the coming months.”
The Fitness Center offers medical exercise consisting of specialized programs suited for people with various medical conditions, which include cancer rehabilitation, cardiac fitness programs, and orthopedic and core stabilizing programs. Personal training, reformer pilates, group exercise classes and massage are also services the Fitness Center has to offer.
The Fitness Center also offers the Kids in Motion (KIM) play area offers childcare supervision for members so they can enjoy their workout stress free. Children ages 6 months to 12 years are welcome to use the Kids in Motion room for up to three hours each day.
Their registered dietitians offer one-on-one nutrition counseling, small-group sessions, sports nutrition and other programs that incorporate personal training, massage and nutrition guidance.
