INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Sand Harbor’s boat ramp will be closed Monday, July 28 for the rest of the 2014 season due to low water conditions.

The parking lot will remain open for carry-in boat access only. This closure will prevent watercraft from being damaged during a launch and protect the end of the launch lanes from damage. All other boaters will be directed to use the Cave Rock boat ramp facility.

Many local businesses at the Lake, including Truckee River Rafting Company, say they're struggling to operate. If the Lake falls below the natural rim, water flowing into the Truckee River will be low, meaning rafts won't float during the usual extremely busy month of August.

In a recent press release, Lake Tahoe Nevada State Parks said they appreciate the public’s understanding in this matter and the safety measures the park is taking to protect property.
