CARSON CITY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Governor Brian Sandoval today announced he has appointed Tom Skancke to the Nevada Department of Transportation Board of Directors. Skancke’s term begins January 1, 2014.

Currently the President and CEO of the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance, Skancke previously served as President and CEO of The Skancke Company. He has been the lead advisor on hundreds of transportation infrastructure projects, and is widely recognized as one of the top transportation strategists in the United States. In 2005, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) appointed Skancke to the National Surface Transportation Policy and Revenue Study Commission, and Skancke co-authored a landmark document that made recommendations to Congress on policy, funding, and infrastructure for the next 50 years. He also played a key role in the past three surface transportation reauthorization bills.
