CARSON CITY, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- Governor Brian Sandoval today announced that he has appointed Lidia Stiglich to the 2nd Judicial District Court. Stiglich will fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Steven Kosach.
Stiglich graduated from the University of California (Berkeley) with a B.S. in Business Administration. Stiglich obtained her law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of Law. While in law school, she interned at the first District Court of Appeals, with the Honorable Justice Marcel Poche. She served as a member and Note Editor of the Constitutional Law Quarterly.
From 1997 to 2002, Stiglich served as a trial attorney at the San Francisco Public Defender’s Office. From 2002 to present, Stiglich has acted as managing partner of the firm of Stiglich & Hinckley LLP, where she focuses on criminal and civil litigation matters.
She has served as a law professor at John F. Kennedy School of Law, Golden Gate University School of Law and New College of the Law, teaching evidence and criminal law. Stiglich was also selected to serve on the San Francisco/Oakland Panel Selection Subcommittee relating to the Criminal Justice Act, and from 2004 to 2008, Stiglich was a commissioner on the San Francisco Juvenile Probation Commission, serving as president for part of that time.
