CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A woman who worked for two Republican members of Nevada's congressional delegation has been named as Gov. Brian Sandoval's new office communications director.
Sandoval announced Thursday that Mari Nakashima St. Martin will join his office on Monday. She currently serves as communications director of his re-election campaign.
At the same time, Sandoval said his office press secretary, Tyler Klimas, will become communications officer of the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange beginning Monday.
St. Martin, an unsuccessful state Senate candidate in Las Vegas in 2012, has worked in the offices and campaigns of U.S. Sen. Dean Heller and Rep. Joe Heck, both R-Nev. She also has worked for a marketing and public relations firm in Las Vegas.
She grew up in Ely and graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
