@Shortcircuit--I drove a 24' Class B flatbed and my husband drives a big rig so I know all too well that large vehicles don't stop on a dime. I also know that as professional drivers you should be more aware of your surroundings and it is your job to make up for other people's lack of driving skills (they did teach that to you, right??). Hopefully you're not one of the many many school bus drivers who dart into traffic and act like they're the only vehicle on the road and hopefully you're not one of those drivers who leaves the red flashing lights on while chit chatting with a parent while holding up traffic. I see so many school bus drivers who obviously don't know how to drive that long of a vehicle so I wonder what kind of (or lack there of) training they receive. And if you can't handle driving while having a bunch of screaming kids behind you, you probably need to drive something without the distraction. Swift is always looking for OTR drivers.

you people don't get it buses weigh 15 tons and don't stop on an dime we go through a very good training process and keep in mind a lot of times we either have just just had 70-80 kids on board watching them and the road or are getting ready to load them. No we don't feel entitled but we do have rules on our job to follow you never know when a child will come running across the street to catch the bus how would you feel if you hit that child cause you didn't want to wait and by the way do you live in a glass house and are you perfect? I'm pretty sure you don't and aren't

We have bus drivers on Red Rock Road who will let six and more cars stack up behind them and not allow them to pass when there are plenty of shoulders safe for the buses to do so. They create a sense of road rage nearly everyday and calls to the School District, School Police and the Bus Barn have done no good. I think it's an instilled attitude at the WCSD. They feel entitled.

This doesn't surprise me...I think the school district only hires school bus drivers with no experience driving a large vehicle. I've had several almost run over me on my bike, insist on the right of way at a four way stop even though it wasn't their turn, take left turns too tight and almost take out the hood of my car, etc etc. I wish these people would go through some training and stop having the mentality of "I'm bigger than you so I can do whatever I want."
