ELKO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - Over the last several months the Elko County Sheriff’s Office has continued to search for Albert Chretien. With the assistance of the Owyhee Fire Department, K9 Search and Rescue Teams from Nevada, Idaho and Utah have volunteered their time to assist in the search for Albert Chretien. Several steep canyons and water ways have been searched in the area where the couples van was located in May 2011. Searching will continue as information develops and weather permits.

Chretien and his wife, Rita, were on their way to Las Vegas when they detoured to visit Jackpot, Nev. and their van became stuck on a muddy road in Bruneau Canyon. Rita was found alive nearly 50 days later, but Albert, who had left the van earlier in search of help, has not been found.
