Second suspect in Memorial Day home invasion behind bars

CARSON CITY, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- A man is facing charges in a home invasion robbery of a 100-year-old veteran and his caretaker over Memorial Day weekend.

According to the Carson City Sheriff's Office, 27-year-old Robert Michael Hernandez is behind bars for commiting an unrelated crime in Sparks. After the initial arrest, he was identified as the second suspect in the armed robbery case.

Hernandez and the other suspect, Jordan Burkhart of Wellington, allegedly forced their way into James Sorrentino's home, and fled with a wristwatch, pocket knife, and $30 in cash. The two are charged with Conspiracy to Commit Burglary, Home Invasion, Assault and Crimes Commited against Someone over 60.

Hernandez has been booked into the Carson City Jail, and his bail is set at $1.5 million.
