Semi overturned in Washoe Valley

Reno, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)- Update as of 3:00 pm -

A semi-truck overturned and blocked all lanes of southbound US-395 next to the Old 395 exit at approximately 2:05 p.m. according to Sergeant Frank Hernandez of the Nevada Highway Patrol.

There were no major injuries. The driver only sustained minor injuries.

Trucks, RV's, and buses over nine feet tall are prohibited from traveling on US-395 between Mt. Rose Highway and Carson City.

Traffic is being diverted to US-395 A at Bower's Interchange. Motorists are to take US-395 A to the far south end of Washoe Valley and return to I-580 at Lake View Hill on ramp. Estimated End Time is 5:00 PM according to the Nevada Department of Transportation.





Reno, NV (KRNV & MyNews4.com)-- Lanes on Hwy 395 southbound in Washoe Valley are blocked by an overturned semi-truck, likely due to the high winds.
Nevada Highway Patrol is on scene, however, it is unclear how long the lanes will be blocked.

This is a common occurance, I think the driver and the company should be slapped with the cost of clean up and a huge fine, then maybe these "professional drivers" would stop taking the risk. There is nothing new about the winds in Washoe Valley. These truck drivers seem to think their time is more valuable than all the drivers that are delayed by their choice to "try" to make it thru Washoe Valley. By the time the county has turned on the warning sign the winds are already a danger, I have seen truckers drive thru there even when the sign says prohibited...

this was at Warning stage as early as 9 a.m. Is 395A the (E or W)Lakeview road? or is this the actual 395? the 'Old' 395? the old 97's? clear as mud, especially to texting tourists
