WASHINGTON, D.C. ( & KRNV) -- Senator Harry Reid has responded to the Ice Bucket Challenge from Carson City resident Mike Wedin.

At 3:49 p.m., the Senate Majority Leader responded on Twitter:

The ice bucket challenge calls for a person to dump an bucket of ice water on their head, or donate $100 to ALS research.

On Thursday, Wedin took the challenge and nominated Reid, who has been a strong supporter of ALS research. Wedin was diagnosed with ALS a year ago.

The way I read this is that Harry paid the $$$ rather than have the ice dumped on him. Regardless, it is a good cause.
