CARSON CITY, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Former Reno City Councilwoman Jessica Sferrazza has filed a motion for reconsideration with the Nevada Supreme Court, contending that Justices overlooked certain relevant aspects of the case to make their ruling.

According to the appeal filed with the Clerk, Sferrazza's lawyer, Bradley Schrager, contends that the Supreme Court found ambiguity in the language of the Reno City Charter, in regards to eligibility requirements. Schrager gives many legal precedents that show "ambiguity should be resolved in favor of the electorate’s prerogative to select leaders of its choosing" and that "only in cases of clear ineligibility should that prerogative be defeated."

Last week, the state's highest court ruled that termed-out Reno City Council members were not eligible to run for Mayor.

I guess ms sferazza does not feel that the vote of the people affirming term limits was a legitimate vote..Or maybe she thinks the law does not apply to her.. This appeal is political suicide for ms sferrazza and it will hopefully keep her from political office forever.
