RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Petsmart, Inc. has donated $5,000 to the Shakespeare Animal Fund, a local non-profit founded to pay emergency veterinarian bills for elderly, disabled, returning Vets and others who need help when their animals are suffering or dying.
Founded in Reno in 2004, the Shakespeare Animal Fund has donated more than $300,000 to help individuals and their animals within the community, offering a crisis hotline to help intervene and get suffering animals to veterinarians.
“We are thrilled with the generous donation from PetSmart,” said Jennifer Webb, Executive Director of Shakespeare Animal Fund. “Shakespeare prides itself in happy endings, saving hundreds of animals each year and enriching the lives of those whose animals are often the only families they have. This donation helps us save more animals and multiply our happy endings.”
PetSmart will provide this charitable donation through its PetSmart Gives Back initiative. This initiative focuses on giving back to local communities throughout the nation in support of organizations that enrich people’s lives through the power of pets.
“Giving back to the people, pets and the community is at the heart of everything we do,” said Andrew Buer, general manager of PetSmart distribution center 41. “This donation is very special to our team because Shakespeare Animal Fund has assisted some of our PetSmart associates locally and their pets.”
