CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Sharron Angle, a conservative former assemblywoman and failed U.S. Senate candidate has filed a proposed constitutional amendment to require photo identification to vote.

The so-called Voter ID Initiative was filed Tuesday with the secretary of state's office. It would require photo identification to be eligible to vote.

Angle won a crowded Republican primary field in 2010 but lost to U.S. Democratic Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid by 41,000 votes.

After her defeat she said she was working on a documentary to expose alleged voter fraud.

Angle filed another initiative earlier this month seeking to outlaw health insurance exchanges in Nevada, a move directed at overturning the federal health care reform law.

To qualify for the ballot, initiative backers need more than 101,000 signatures by June 17.

Why not show I D to vote? It seems to me that those with something to hide want to remain in the shadows. We show I D to buy alcohol and cash a check or to buy cold pills at the pharmacy, certainly we should show I D to vote so as to maintain the integrity of the election.

Multiple studies show that the proof of voter fraud is statistically so low as to be nonexistent. Why do these people hate America and our freedom, they say their real Americans but they don't believe in the Constitution and the RIGHTS that are in it.Please go find a fascist country that suits you and leave this country to the people brave enough to stand up for our values, not cowering behind the couch begging for laws to stop others from basic American RIGHTS.

The dead people (or near dead) usually vote Republican, the double voters usually Democrat. I'm not so sure if she'll ever find those 41,000 votes she desperately needed last go around

Where do I go to sign it! You show your ID for just about any other activity you do. my God, I have to show my ID now to get a sudafed and Walmart. Why not show it for the most important action a citizen of this country can take. OH I KNOW...because the opponents of this proposal want non-citizens in this country to be able to vote illicitly, and double voting and dead people voting, and on and on and on. Voter fraud destroys the very foundation of free and fair elections. How can anyone argue against trying to improve the system by diminishing or eliminating voter fraud.
