RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - Dawn Wells, who was born in Reno will star in Sheep Dip 48 as Sarah Palin in a skit entitled, “History’s Mysteries Made Simple.”
While attending Reno High School, Wells was the class treasurer, President of the debate team and an honor roll student. She was Miss Nevada and went on to the Miss America Pageant. Although her filmography includes more than 50 roles, she is best remembered as Mary Ann Summers in “Gilligan’s Island.”
Wells has been busy just this last year alone, acting in a number of plays, appearing in the new movie "Hotel Arthritis" and opening The Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum in Reno. She is also writing a book, has two reality shows in development and will be staring in a Broadway play next month.
The show will be on January 20th and 21st at the John Ascuaga Nugget's Showroom at 8pm. News 4's own Dina Kupfer will be one of the media hosts for the shows. Tagged as "The Roast of the Town," Sheep Dip 48 will feature songs, dances, and skits that poke fun at all that has gone wrong in Reno and the surrounding areas, including all of Nevada. Governor Sandoval will be opening this year's show with a hilarious video, with skits to follow about the state of higher education ("The Life of Brian") and the star bonds owed to the city (“Star Bond Wars”) and several songs, dances, videos and our notorious Shaft award.
