@Speed Thank you. They did contact my grandmothers brother late last night about this and that is how I found out today. We live in Ca so I'm concerned about how they plan on fixing that outside wall that they had to cut into to get the dynamite out. And seriously no charges at all, wth what if through his negligence that house blew up and someone was in it, also now selling the house will be hard since I would imagine there could be possibly some residue left in the walls since the dynamite was so old. I think at the very minimum he should be held liable for repairing what had to be torn down. This may be a civil matter that we will have to pursue in court I guess.

Corina; I'm SO glad your Grandma wasn't injured by this! I think your family is owed a public apology for their failure to even contact you early on with the clean up,though they might not have known who to contact. (A call to the Assessor's office could cover that.) Dynamite more than 10 years old? That Dynamite is likely pretty unstable by now-not only dangerous,but EXTREMELY dangerous!

This is my grandmothers house and she is currently living with us. My grandmother and myself still have not even been contacted regarding this. I hate to think what would have happened if she had still been living there alone and she had decided to hang a new picture or something and the house blew up. Truly wish someone from the sherrifs dept would contact us and let us know the specifics and if there is any more dynamite in the house before we sell it.

The house is not vacant. This is my grandmothers house she has just been gone visiting family so nooo it is not vacant.I hate to imagine what would have happened if there had been an earthquake or something.
