SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Cailf. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) - South Lake Tahoe police report that a man has killed himself after threatening a neighbor with a gun.
According to police reports, at around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 5th, officers were called to investigate a shooting near the intersection of Brockway Avenue and Rubicon Trail. Witnesses to the shooting say they saw a man shoot at another man during an argument outside a home. That victim was not hit, and was quickly found by police officers.
The shooting victim told police that he and the suspect had been in an argument over vehicle damage when the suspect drew a revolver and fired it at the victim. The victim then fled the scene.
South Lake Tahoe Police Officers, El Dorado County Sheriff's Deputies and CHP officers were sent to find the shooter. When establishing a perimeter around the crime scene, the suspect ran into the street of Rubicon Trail and shot himself in the head. The suspect was confirmed deceased at the scene.
Police say they are still investigating this crime. The names of both the victim and shooter are being withheld at this time. Detectives are asking any witnesses to this crime or anyone with relevant information call police at 530-542-6100 and refer to case number 1301-0592
