CARSON CITY, Nev. ( & KRNV) -- The Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center shooting was a failed murder-suicide attempt, according to a police report obtained by News 4.

The police report says that the suspect, 88-year-old William Dresser, told the arresting officer that his wife had an accident approximately two weeks ago that left her paralyzed, and that she did not want to live anymore. He came to the hospital with a gun and four bullets; two for him and two for his wife. He told the officer that the gun jammed after the first shot.

The Carson City Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate.

This woman should be able to die on her own terms. Imagine the weight this man carried with each step he took to even attempt something like this. Assisted suicide should be legal in every state and this man should be freed. Let him go to her and leave them be to decide their end of life decisions.
