RENO, Nev. (MyNews4.com & KRNV) -- Two people were taken to Renown Regional Medical Center after a single motorcycle accident in Washoe Valley on Friday.

According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, it happened about a half mile south of the Bellvue Road overpass on the northbound lanes of Highway 395. Troopers say the tread of the back tire of the motorcyle was about to seperate from the tire, so the rider tried to ride off the highway to get out of the way of other drivers. He drove off the embankment and crashed.

The male rider and female passenger both have minor injuries.
