MINDEN, NV. (KRNV & MyNew4.com) –East Fork Fire and Paramedics along with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a small plane landing on its belly at the Minden Tahoe Airport this afternoon.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, a Piper Camache 400, tail number N8533P, came into land at the airport. The owner/pilot 77 year-old Alfred Asti, stated his approach was high and as the plane came into contact with the ground, the plane bounced. The plane, now airborne again, came into contact with the ground and bounced again at which time the landing gear folded up and the plane collapsed to the ground sliding off the runway.
The Sheriff's Office says that Asti was not injured in the incident.
