RENO, Nev. (KRNV & MyNews4.com) -- President Obama did sign an order that all active military personnel will still be paid during the shutdown, but there are uniformed men and women right here in northern Nevada who won't be getting paid.
It's going to look a lot like the temporary sequestration cutbacks the National Guard had to make earlier this year. It's not ideal, but officials say they're still able to fulfill their mission. Enlisted guardsmen won't be affected, but more than half of the Guard's full-time workers are federal employees, so no work and no paycheck for some guardsmen.
Some duties will be transferred to the active force, but it won't be an easy transition. Guard members say they will still be ableto fulfill their duties.
